Member Spotlight: 3D Partners

Doug.jpgWhen it comes to planning meetings and events, experience matters. That’s what Doug Kwikkel, owner of 3D Partners, brings to the table.

3D Partners, founded by Kwikkel in July 2005, provides a wide range of services, including meeting & event planning services, incentive travel programs, trade show planning & management and incentive recognition programs, executive vacation planning, advertising specialties and HR recruitment services.

Kwikkel and his team are ready to serve and committed to ensuring the best result for the client. For example, 3D Partners assists in any way necessary when it comes to planning meetings and events. They can help establish objectives, program budgeting, select a venue and inspect it and even help with rooming and travel for attendees. This list isn’t meant to be all-inclusive. They are there for the client. 3D Partners can also plan all the details of participating in a trade show from the planning process to the completion of the event. They also can develop employee motivation and customer loyalty programs for their clients.

Before starting 3D Partners, Kwikkel was working for Miller Brewing Company and at a time of reorganization, decided to leave the company and start his own business. He remains close with MillerCoors, who are actually one of his largest clients.

Moving from a corporate job to being a small business owner has certainly been a change. When it comes to generating business, there are times when a project is in motion but it can take a year until it occurs or is finished. “It’s those challenges and those learnings that have been kind of exciting,” said Kwikkel.

Besides the freedom of owning a business, Kwikkel also enjoys other facets of 3D Partners. Recently, he was able to travel to Amsterdam with MillerCoors’ Tenth and Blake Beer Company as part of the incentive travel services that 3D Partners offers its clients. With this trip, the top five distributors for Tenth and Blake were given the travel opportunity to recognize their accomplishments. “The balance of the week is visiting and exploring, but it’s really a reward for hitting the sales goals that were set for them,” explained Kwikkel.

When asked about joining the Wisconsin LGBT Chamber of Commerce, Kwikkel explained, “I look at it as a great opportunity to network and to do business with other small businesses.” 3D Partners is pursing certification as an LGBT Business Enterprise through the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce. With the certification, Kwikkel hopes to become even more involved with the Wisconsin LGBT Chamber and volunteer. “It’s growing and it’s new, which excites me.”
