MILWAUKEE — The nationally award-winning Wisconsin LGBT Chamber of Commerce today launched its ‘Welcoming & Inclusive’ campaign to support businesses around the state committed to serving all people.
“Study after study has shown that LGBT individuals, as well as allies, want to do business with those that share their values,” said Jason Rae, executive director of the Wisconsin LGBT Chamber. “In a period of so-called ‘Religious Freedom’ bills and anti-LGBT legislation across the country, we know it’s more important than ever to identify businesses that are welcoming and inclusive of all people, especially members of the LGBT community.”
The ‘Welcoming & Inclusive’ campaign features static window cling decals, which are double facing and 4x4 inches in size, for businesses to place in their storefront to reach new customers and brand themselves as a welcoming and inclusive establishment. The stickers were designed by a certified LGBT Business Enterprise and produced by another Chamber member.
“While there are more than 10,000 individuals searching our Online Business Directory each month looking for businesses to support, we know there are even more people out there around the state who, as they are walking down the street, are trying to figure out where to shop. We want people to know which businesses are a place to visit and support. Through this new campaign, we can do just that,” added Rae.
‘Welcoming & Inclusive’ decals are available for $5.00 each online at www.wislgbtchamber.com/wi.
The decal design features rainbow colors, which are symbolic of the LGBT community, as well as an open door to showcase the business is accepting and welcoming of all.
The Wisconsin LGBT Chamber of Commerce is an organization of gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and LGBT-allied businesses, corporations and professionals throughout the state of Wisconsin.
